THALWAG — FISHERS
For the people who
already know the sea.
ഇതിനകം കടൽ അറിയുന്ന ആളുകൾക്ക്.
You go out every day. You read the sky. You know the currents. THALWAG is a small sensor on your boat that helps keep you safer and helps you understand the sea even better. It costs you nothing. It belongs to you.

before you leave port.
The sea changes fast. A small sensor on your boat connects to a weather system that checks the forecast every hour. If a storm is coming, you know before you set out. While you are at sea, your device receives alerts if conditions change. If your boat is in trouble, one press sends your location to the people who can help.
Storm warnings
Before you leave port, we check the IMD forecast. If a storm is expected, you get a clear warning. Not numbers. Plain words: "Do not go out today."
Available for pilot vessels now
SOS signal
If your boat is in trouble, press one button. Your location goes immediately to the Coast Guard and to a person you choose at home.

Your family knows where you are
While you are at sea, your family can see your location on a simple map. You decide who can see it. You can turn it off at any time.

Know the sea better.
Fish gather where cold water meets warm water. Our sensor measures that boundary as your boat moves through it. That information comes back to you. You already know where the fish go. The sensor helps you know it a little more precisely, and share it with others in the network — without giving away your route.
Water temperature
The sensor records water temperature as you move. Over time this builds a map of where warm and cold water meet. That is where fish are most likely to be.
The sensor measures: temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, depth.
Where fish are being found
Other boats in the network share the general areas where they are finding fish. Not their exact route — never that. Just the general region.
Planning the next trip
A clearer picture of the sea — where the warm water is, where the currents are running — helps you plan. As more boats join, the picture gets better for everyone.

You are a partner.

നിങ്ങൾ ഒരു പങ്കാളിയാണ്.
Your fishing routes are private. Joining is free. Your knowledge — of currents, seasons, and where the fish go — is something no satellite or sensor can measure. We are here to learn from you, not just to collect from you.
Your routes are private. Always.
We never share where you went. Not with the government, not with other fishers, not with researchers. Your route belongs to you.
It is free.THALWAG നിങ്ങൾക്ക് സൗജന്യമാണ്.
Joining is free. The sensor is free. The storm warnings, the sea data, the SOS — all free. We do not charge fishers. We never will.
You can stop at any time.
Disconnect the sensor. Remove it from your boat. We stop collecting. No questions asked.
Your knowledge matters.നിങ്ങളുടെ അറിവ് പ്രധാനമാണ്.
Where fish go in July. Why some mornings the current runs differently. How you read the colour of the water. No satellite measures this. We want to learn from you — not just from our sensors.
You are credited for your work.
When your data is used in a scientific paper, it is credited. If you want your name in that credit, it goes in. If you prefer anonymity, it stays anonymous. Your choice.
How to join.
Write to us.
Tell us your name, your port, and what kind of boat you have. That is all we need to start.
We come to you.
A THALWAG person meets you at your port. We talk through what the sensor does and answer any questions you have.
We fit the sensor. It takes two hours.
A small box goes on your boat. It does not change how you fish. It does not get in the way. It costs you nothing.
Go to sea as you always do.
The sensor works by itself. You do not need to do anything differently. When you return to port, the data uploads automatically.
